How BFKautism started

BFKautism grew out of BFKbooks with our need to expand, and in particular the autism side, with more information, and articles for adults on the autistic spectrum. At the same time we have added BFKdvd, BFKmusic to our growing family.

Over the past 10 years our daughter Naomi who was diagnosed in 2000 (at 28) with being on the autistic spectrum, has lived in an autism specific residential home run by the Disabilities Trust Charity. Both my husband David and I wanted to give back to the wonderful people who have so ably looked after Naomi and so BFKbooks was born, but as time went by we felt the need to add more on the autism side and BFKbooks wasn't able to accommodate how we wanted to do it.

Naomi loved to read (voraciously) but since her breakdown and diagnosis, she has been unable to read as she used to and so we wanted to impart more autism relevant information by creating a new website BFKautism.

But there is one person I must give a huge thankyou to, is Scott Lynch who I interviewed before BFKbooks came into being and was the inspiration to get onto the internet - and yes I have learned much on the job as they say! Without him BFKautism wouldn't be here! Someday I hope we'll meet again!
